Crochet Mesh Hat Pattern

Hi Guys! Im so exited to bring you this new pattern of the trendy mesh hat.

I did a recent travel to meet some distant family members and of course, brought my crochet pieces with me.

This project is veyyyy simple to make and you will use and can use it with different styles of outfits. You can go from the beach, to a dinner to a night club, all in one!

You can make it in different colours and materials to have a more beachy effect or more sophisticated.

For my project I use a yarn called Eco Vita by the brand DMC made from recycled material: 80% recycled cotton + 20% other recycled yarns. I use a 4.5 mm hook. With only 1 yarn you will be perfectly fine, more than fine, I think you will be able to make at least 3 hats. I only use 18 grams of yarn for mine.

Bonus: the label of this yarn can be use to wash you crochet pieces as its degradable in water as soap. How cool is that???

Materials used

Let´s begin:

1. Start with a magic ring, make 3 chains + 11 double crochet stiches inside. Close with a slip stich between the 11th dc and the 3rd chain at the beginning.

2. 3 chains (that will act as your first double crochet) + 1 chain. Double crochet in the second double crochet from the previous round. This way you will do 1 double crochet + 1 chain on top of each double crochet from the previous round. Close with a slip stich.

3. 3 chains + 2 chains more, double crochet in the second double crochet from the previous round. This way you will do 1 double crochet + 2 chain on top of each double crochet from the previous round. Close with a slip stich.

4. 3 chains + 3 chains more, double crochet in the second double crochet from the previous round. This way you will do 1 double crochet + 3 chain on top of each double crochet from the previous round. Close with a slip stich.

5. 3 chains + 4 chains more, double crochet in the second double crochet from the previous round. This way you will do 1 double crochet + 4 chain on top of each double crochet from the previous round. Close with a slip stich.

6. 3 chains + 2 chains more - double crochet in the middle of the 4 chains you did between the 2 double crochet from the previous round. This way you will do 2 chains + 1 double crochet + 2 chains in between the each double crochet from the previous round. Close with a slip stich.

7. 3 chains + 3 chains more, double crochet in the 2nd double crochet from the previous round. This way you will do 1 double crochet + 3 chain on top of each double crochet from the previous round. Close with a slip stich.

8. No more increases from now on, just repeat point 7 till you get to you desirable length In my case I repeat it for 5 more rounds.

9. To finish you project, end it with single crochet all round the circumference of your hat. Close with a slip stich.

10. EXTRA TIP: add a charm! I choose a sea shell I had at hand from a previous project. I only added 1 in the middle of the forehead. But you can add as many as you wish!!
